Rugby and Titanic
So, this is now my weekend. With a rugby match on Saturday and Cobh on Sunday. Actually this was my first rugby game seen in real life, (except for those 15 minutes in Cork with UCC). It was a lot to take in and it was a lot I did not understand at all, but it was all a big WOW. I do not know more what to say. I actually liked it. And this game then, was not just a game for the Kanturk RFC, it was an important game. Kanturk RFC vs Wanderers FC (from Dublin). But unfortunatley I have to tell you that Wanderers won with 30-29.
And here are some photos I took during the game.

Everyone was cheering

The game is on! (Look, it is all so chaotic).

Wanderers are the winners!

And now, this is my Sunday. I met two other au pairs, one from Germany and one from Austria in Cobh and we were planning to go to "The Queenstown Story" and "Titanic Experience". The Queenstown were a kind of a museum about all the emigrantes from Irland, how it was during their journey by boat and after. And with a lot about the ships. And also about Titanic. Cobh/Cove or Queenstown as it also was called once, it was the last place they were in port until they would reach their destination in America, which also means the last place before they were sinking.
The museum was really interesting, but I dont think it was worth 9 Euros. After that we was really hungry and went to the Titanic restaurant and there we sat for at least 2 hours, waiting to order, get the food and to pay. But the food was delicious.
After that we went to the "Titanic experience", but we were too late, 5 minutes too late, for the last tour, so we went out again. But really it did not bother us. The weather was lovely and we just walked around the little town, sat in a park with the sea just next to us.

Im posing with Annie Moore and her brothers. (She was the "first" emigrant from Ireland).

What a view!

Typical Irish wall.. haha

Belinda left us, but she seemed happy about it ;)

The railstation, where the train we came with left us, but did not pick us up, because there were not any.
On are way home again, me and Evi sitting and waiting for the train, a man suddenly appears and said :
- Come up. Get up from here. You cant stay here. Then you will wait forever, because there is no train.
And everyone waiting there, maybe 15 persons, went up, all of us a bit confused and up there it was a bus taking us back to Cork. I said to Evi that in Sweden no one would believe him, but here in Ireland people trust each other, and helping. And she agreed. In Cork she missed her bus by maybe 15 minutes, so we walked around a pizza slice and listen to a man singing opera on the street. Her next bus was not coming till 11pm, and she only had 10 Euros, so the taxi was not to think about. But I wanted to try anyhow so there it was, the first taxi I saw and went there and asked how much it will be to where she lived. And it ended up that Evi sat in the taxi on her way home and I was now alone in Cork. my second time in Cork. But I walked a round the city and then went to the train station.
It was a lot of new things during the weekend, but I dont regret it at all.
Today, though, I was really tired and the weather was really miserable, raining and windy. Hopefully it will be a bit sunny tomorrow so we can go out for a walk, me and the little one.
Xxx Maria
P.s. I think Federica is in Italy now, since Sunday, Am I right?
